FLYTRY DAY!

Waking up into the cloudy morning sky did not seem as a very good prediction for a flying day. Despite that the grid was set up. On the briefing we were told that there is a chance to fly a short task today according to the meteorologist. The tasks were distributed at 12:00. The sky was still covered with a thick layer of clouds and the promised window was not coming. Blanik took off to try the conditions. There were slow thermals up to 1,5 m/s and the cloudbase was 800 meters above the airfield. The decision of the organizers was simple. Let´s start the towing. There is not time for waiting anymore. Unfortunatelly, the situation got worse, gliders had trouble to keep up in the air and the starts needed to be posponed. The world class and double seaters were not able to start the task so the day was officialy cancelled. Pilots had to find a different program than flying again :( Some decided to do something for their health and tried voleyball, tenis or ping-pong. Others just went to hotels and rested after a long international evening. Let´s all hope that the weather situation will finaly get better...
