20m multi seat class - no "real" outlanding

2011-07-19 16:51:50

At around 16:00 the first arrivals started. There have been nice sunny weather here at that time. Later some tunderstorms created in the south as forecasted with slow movement towards Nitra. Luckily most of the pilots managed to land before it started to rain. Now we are obscured by clouds with tunderstorm and lightning. There are still a few gliders on approach, but fortunately the rain started to disappear. There is a number of outlanded gliders today. For now we know that we may have only one brave finisher in world class - EZ. Well done!

We have been not so sure if weather will allow us to fly today morning. The forecast indicated showers and even tunderstorms, anyway we decided to try it, since the outlook for tomorrow is even worse. It turned to be a good idea, because the sky cleared after the briefing. We decided to set speed tasks via assigned areas with minimum time 1:30 for all classes. The grid remained the same as yesterday with 20m multi seat class followed by the standard class on the left side and world followed by club class on the right side. At the start time (finaly 12:15 after 15 min of delay) we decided not to launch other than the world class gliders. They barrely remained airborne for about 20 minutes, but later climbs improved so we could launch all the remaining fleet. Despite a few relights all the gliders are flying. Currently there is a kind of outspreading south of the field, but we hope the pilots will manage it. You may see all 20m multi seat class gliders online at www.http://glider.tracking.lt/

Good morning - Day 2

The grid is for runway 15, grid time until 11:45. The briefing will be at 10:00. We aim for an early launching because of possibility of showers (even TS) in the afternoon.
