The Official Training day...

...unfortunately was not a flying one. The sky was cloudy all day long with occassional rain. The first briefing was held at the bar explaining all the rules and procedures. Pilots had time to register and do the technical check of their glider. Tomorrow is the first contest day and the weather looks promising. There is a chance for a short task. Interviews with the pilots will be made and some photos avaliable at the web page. See you all at tomorrow´s briefing at 10 am.

Good night!

Thursday & Friday - Flying and Arrivals

During these two days several pilots arrived to Nitra. Among early birds with arrival on Wednesday were Tim Englert, David Bauder and Steffen Schwarzer (all from GER). They were able to try weak weather conditions between two fronts during Thursday afternoon. Pawel Frackowiak (POL) arrived subsequently on Thursday evening followed by Mindaugas Zaliukas, Vitautas Maciulis (both LTU), Henning Specht (GER), Andy Lutz (AUT), Petr Setka, Ivan Novak and Roman Mracek (all CZE) during Friday. The weather on Friday was no t suitable for soaring, therefore the pilots spend their time by technical preparations for the event. The most of them spent hte evening by discussions in the bar. Anyway we all are looking forward to the next hopefully better days for racing.
