PRIBINA CUP NEWS
2026-04-04 14:35:40 (News from Competition)
We initially postponed the first launches to 13:00, hoping for a weather window. Unfortunately, the conditions did not improve as we had hoped. Therefore, we have officially cancelled the task for all classes today.
On a brighter note, some pilots are still making the most of the day by doing local ridge and wave flights. See you on the grid tomorrow!

DAILY SUMMARY
2026-04-03
The opening day of Pribina Cup 2026 got underway under moderate soaring conditions. After a cloudy morning with temperatures around 8°C, skies cleared by midday reaching 16°C with a north-northwesterly wind of 20–25 km/h. Cloud bases sat around 1500m MSL with thermals up to 2 m/s — workable for the experienced, but tricky for many. AAT tasks with a 2-hour minimum were set for all classes, routing pilots north towards Partizánske and Bánovce (Club) or Rybany and Svinná (15m/Open).
The Open class delivered the best racing - 11 of 18 pilots completed the task. Tomas Rendla (EZ) was the first glider home just after 16:00, but Zdislaw Bednarczuk (ZB) took the day win by a single point (361 vs 360) with a top speed of 106.15 km/h in his JS3 TJ. The Polish crew Czeladzki & Jaskiewicz flew the longest distance of the day (219.64 km) in their Arcus T for 3rd place.
The 15m class was tougher - only 3 of 10 scored. Jan Pavlík (JW) won in his LS-8 at 81.21 km/h, just ahead of Miloslav Cink (JB) in another LS-8.
Club class saw the most selective conditions with just 2 of 8 finishing. Defending champion Michal Lešinger (LL) took a comfortable win in his ASW-20 (77.26 km/h, 196 pts). Mateusz Kruszyński (TF) battled weak thermals for over three hours in his SZD-55, landing after 18:00 as the last glider home - earning 174 points for his persistence.
Overall, only 15 of 36 entries scored on a challenging first day. Tomorrow's forecast looks similar with highs around 16°C, so pilots will be hoping for stronger thermals as the competition continues through April 4th.
