Competition - 27th Apr 2011

2011-04-27 17:51:31

All gliders are safely home. Just two outlandings have been reported. AR from the 15m class and LOL from the club class.

2011-04-27 16:54:57

Only 8 gliders we're waiting for.

2011-04-27 16:23:55

All gliders from te 20m class back home.

2011-04-27 16:14:50

More gliders from the open: BT, EG, GA, LK, WG and EB.

2011-04-27 16:10:16

First trailer leaving the airport, LOL.

2011-04-27 16:06:34

ZB, IR and LF from the open class 10km.

2011-04-27 16:03:59

Clouds are comming from the southeast shadowing the ground. Despite that half of the gliders are at home and more are coming. No trailers have left the airport so far.

2011-04-27 15:46:39

First one from the open class home, ZZ. More than a half of 15 m class and 20m class is at home. It seems like the weather was better than the synoptic situation predicted. Good :)

2011-04-27 15:39:41

Landings have just started. First ones are at home: M6 from 15m,  LZ from the club class and V8 from the 20m class.  There are many gliders on their final glide: CC, DI, LM, LL, LZ, SI, DUO, GN, ECC, HG LA, T1 and more.

2011-04-27 14:08:30

The launches took 1,5 hours. Cumulus clouds were probably sleeping at the briefing so now they appear exactly outside of the area of tasks. Cirrus coverage above Nitra changes from marginal to moderate and back.

There seem to bee one or two wheel up landings every day even before the task starts. Pilots, don't forget to lower and lock your wheel when coming back to the airfield!

Briefing. We're under influence of low pressure in Germany and Czech Republic. Anyway, there should be decent thermal activity in our area in spite of signifficant mid level and high level cloud coverage. Task variants A and B are ready, 20m - doubleseater was set to variant B on the briefing.

Launches are planed for 12:00.

2011-04-27 08:35:03

Today's grid will be for RWY 15.

NE grid in the order 15m, 20m-doubleseater and Open class.

NW grid in the order Club and then Open class - self launchers.

Briefing as usually at 10:00.
