Competition - 19th Apr 2025

2025-04-19 22:14:04

Yesterday at the Pribina Cup 2025 in Nitra saw a day of determined flying despite tricky initial conditions. The grid opened on runway 15, followed by the briefing at 10:00 where a 200+ km Racing Task towards the Low Tatras was initially set, with AAT as a backup. The first launch, initially expected at 12:00, faced several postponements, eventually being confirmed for 13:45. Task B was assigned with a duration of 2:30 minutes. Once all gliders were airborne and the start line opened, competitors navigated towards the northern turnpoints, with leaders reaching Vtáčnik while most cruised around Tribeč at altitudes between 1000 and 1500 meters QNH. The first gliders successfully completed the task and returned by 17:30 with the remaining pilots making their way back to Nitra airfield. By the end of the day, all gliders were on the ground, marking a successful day of competition.
