Airspace

We have pleasure to announce that access to all competition airspace has been granted just recently. We would like to thank to the relevant authorities in Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and here in Slovakia for their cooperation. The only open point is the use of the outer ring around Mochovce power plant, but we hope this will be sorted out soon.

Invitation

On behalf of Aeroklub Nitra I am proud to invite you all for the 10^th anniverssary edition of Pribina Cup 2010 - International Easter Gliding Competition. This invitation is naturally spread to the winners of the Pribina Cup 2009.Our and now very likely also your event is scheduled, as usually, during Easter Holidays 2010 at the Airport Nitra / Slovakia.

The Nitra venue is already established as a great place for gliding events. All necessarily facilities including suitable airfield with international camping area, huge briefing areas and good repair facilities, catering and lodging close to the airport and good route infrastructure should ensure that all involved will experience pleasant stay and relaxed atmosphere here.

The greatest fortunes of all the countries are their people. Slovaks are commonly known for their friendly and hospitable behaviour. The Slovakia climate and natural fortune has promoted the country for tourism and adventure sports. This common interest to the sport, particularly to flying, is reflected by organising activities of the Slovak National Aeroclub or local Aeroklub Nitra in the past. Here I have to mention the FAI European Gliding Championships 1994 (Club Class) held at Slavnica / Dubnica, the FAI Women European Gliding Championships 1997 held at Prievidza and most recently the FAI World Gliding Championships 2003 (World Class and Juniors Classes), FAI European Gliding Championships 2005 (Club, Standard and 18m Classes) and 2009 (15m, 18 and Open Classes) all three events organised at the same place as this one. Additionally we should not to forget to mention the FAI World Gliding Championships 2010 (World, Club and Standard Classes) to be organised this year in Prievidza and our bid for the European Gliding Championships 2011 (World, Club, Standard and 20m Multi-Seat Classes) which is going to be decide upon during the next IGC plenary meeting in March.

Moreover starting from 2003 Nitra became gradually famous in gliding by organisation of now well established International Easter Gliding Competition called Pribina Cup, but that is already well known to all of you. Furthermore our event is supported by local authorities, which will help us to achieve our goal to hold great, and relaxed and especially safe event.

We hope that you have already found several reasons that encouraged you enough to fly in Nitra during Easter Holidays 2010. Me and all of my team we are looking forward to meet the old and also possible new gliding friends here in Nitra again.
